I haven't skated these yet, they look amazing and I have a video on my YouTube channel:
https://www.youtube.com/@Pond_King_Fishing
Go check out the short video of you want to see what they look like. I'm my opinion these shoes are dope af, es' shoes are my favorite brand of skate shoes and have been since the late 90s.

To whom it may concern, please bring back the one nine 7s... I love your shoes and won't skate anything else. Es' for life.

Size runs exact- very form fitting!

So, I did the usual and checked reviews. I was sold on the looks alone and plus, Ronnie Creager bro. C'mon... But, I saw one review mention these running small. I have a slightly different opinion from having 3 heavy sessions in these:

They don't run "small", but they are very snug on the toe cap. It's just the break-in period. These shoes are STURDY so it figures that you need to wear, skate, bend and twist them for a couple sessions to feel right. My sneaker shoe size is a 12 and I skate 11.5 for the secure, snug feel. These are perfect if you like a form fitting shoe that isn't gonna go floppy on you when it fully breaks in. Impact is phenomenal. I never felt a single primo. And the little heelflip pads on the outside *chefs kiss*.

TlDr; that don't run "small", but are a form fitting, sturdy constructed shoe with a longer break in than most. Landing primo didn't make me scream and the heelflip pads on the outside of the shoe are really helpful against wear and tear. I'm awready contemplating buying the grey pair.

Hi Senik,

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review for Creager! We're glad to hear that you're enjoying the form-fitting design and sturdy construction of the shoe. We understand that the toe cap may feel snug at first, but with a few skate sessions, they'll feel just right. The impact protection and heelflip pads are definitely a game-changer, right? We appreciate your support and hope you continue to love your Creager shoes.

Happy skating!

Great design, not so good quality

Back in the day i couldn’t afford having skate shoes to skate, just a pair for show and had to make’em last, but they didn’t, always ended up riding with them and they weren’t that good.
Now i can afford them, for the sake of it, the looks, and the nostalgia, but the quality hasn’t improved unfortunately. Within the first hour of use the stitches on the front started to loosen and a gap appeared, just by the natural fold of the foot walking.
I already had a problem with this order because the courier lost the package, so second pair was shipped, and at this point i already had enough and just sucked it up, even tho they’re not really cheap shoes. A shame because now that i can, i’m like on my 6th pair of éS…

extremely poor quality

After just 3 weeks the plastic toe cap molding on the right shoe has split in multiple places while the left show is 100% fine. this must be a manufacturing defect, and after being a long time customer, I'll be buying other brands from now on. pictures available on request.

Black white reflective

Black white I didn’t know they were reflective until I unboxed them and that was badass? They do have a break in period but after that I love them. Complements first few wears, skates good.

Hello Atilano,

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review. We really put a lot of effort into adding extra details like the reflective parts, so we’re very happy to hear that customers love them!

You’re absolutely right that there is a break-in period, but it’s important to ensure the shoes mold properly to every foot.

We hope to see you back soon on the review page.

Lace protection

The only reason that every shoe you guys make isn't a 5 out of 5 stars is because some models still don't have any lace protection and the swift 2.0 accel fit and sophisto are the best fitting shoes I've ever worn but only 1 of those has lace protection and its the 1 thats the worst fit out of the 3 best fitting models I've skated and the way I'm deciding what shoe to skate is by what models work the best for the tricks im trying that day.

Love the Creagers

Love the Creagers. Had em when I was a teenager and love that I can still get them. They’ll never go out of style and are so comfortable.

Hi Jared,

Thanks for leaving us a review and that you had the same feeling of the Creager as you did when you were a teenager! Hope there are many more years to come with those shoes!

FAQ

01 Do éS shoes fit true to size?

As they are designed with a medium-width profile, most éS shoes fit true to size with a classic skate fit-secure in the heel with room for natural movement in the forefoot. Models like the Accel and Swift are built on legacy éS lasts, while newer silhouettes may feel more streamlined. If you prefer a tighter performance fit, you can size down ½ size.

02 Are éS shoes good for impact skating?

Yes. Many models were built using STI Energy Foam midsoles, high-rebound insoles, and supportive cupsole construction and we are always developing technologies for the future. These designs originated from the golden era of technical skating and have been refined to handle modern impact demands.

03 Why does éS focus on engineering?

éS was founded to advance skate footwear. In the 90s and 2000s, the brand set the benchmark for technical design - clean silhouettes, smart overlays, better impact protection, and shoes built to progress skateboarding. Today, that same engineering mindset underpins every new model.

04 What materials do éS shoes typically use?

Full-grain leather, suede, synthetic reinforcements, breathable mesh, and high-grip rubber. Materials are selected for the blend of durability, performance, and feel needed for technical skateboarding.

05 How do I choose between éS shoe models?

All éS shoes use cupsole construction, but each model offers a different mix of support, boardfeel and durability. Classic styles like the Accel or Swift are stable and durable. Modern models focus on lighter weight and impact protection, while heritage remasters keep original design DNA. Choose based on whether you want more support or a more responsive feel.

06 What technologies do éS shoes use?

éS shoes use skate-specific construction features for durability, comfort and performance. _x000B_These include cupsole construction, reinforced ollie zones, triple-stitched toe caps, rubberized overlays on high-wear areas, hidden lace-loops, molded EVA or E-Bound foam insoles for impact protection, breathable mesh panels and high-grip rubber outsoles.

07 How durable are éS shoes?

Durability is engineered into the build: reinforced ollie zones, rubber overlays, triple stitching, and high-abrasion materials. Cupsole models provide long-lasting outsole integrity, while selected vulc models use wrapped foxing for wear protection.

08 What makes the Accel an iconic skate shoe?

The Accel is one of the most influential shoes in skateboarding history - known for its clean design, durable cupsole, and balanced boardfeel. It became the standard for technical skating in the mid-to-late 90s and continues to influence modern éS design today.

09 Are éS shoes made for skateboarding?

Yes. Every éS shoe is designed for technical skateboarding, from tread patterns to foam systems to wear zones. éS was founded to push skate footwear design forward, and that engineering-first mindset guides every model we release.

10 Cupsole vs vulcanized - what’s the difference?

Cupsoles offer more support, impact protection and long-lasting stability - central to éS heritage and seen on icons like the Accel and TJ Rogers. Vulc styles deliver immediate boardfeel and flexibility. Both are engineered specifically for technical skateboarding; it comes down to your skating style and preference.

11 Which pros skate or wear éS shoes?

éS has been worn by many of skateboarding’s most influential pros, including Eric Koston, Tom Penny, Chad Muska, Bob Burnquist, Rick McCrank and Ronnie Creager. Later generations included Paul Rodriguez, PJ Ladd, Rodrigo TX and Wade Desarmo. In 2025, éS introduced the TJ Rogers pro model, continuing the brand’s long tradition of supporting elite skateboarders.
